Hello everyone! As aforementioned this must necessarily be directly to the point, but I just came out of period drama land (whilst washing dishes at the same time ;)) and felt the urgent need to hit the nice orange Publish button.
I JUST WATCHED BLEAK HOUSE FOR THE FIRST TIME!!
And ohhhh.... my. It's not one of my absolute tippity top favorites yet (it takes a lot to compete with N&S etc.), but I don't know when I've cried so much (both sad and happy tears) for a film. And I can't believe all the new period drama friends I've made!
Truth be told, I'm already hoping to rewatch it with my mom when she comes to visit next week. (And review coming eventually... I'm sure. ;))
I think I need another Christmas break so I can watch period dramas like Bleak House: it sounds so good, and I'm definitely hankering for a good movie.
ReplyDeleteNorth and South is very hard to top indeed! Who's better: Mr. Thornton or Mr. Darcy?
I can't wait for your review!! I love Bleak House, book and movie!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen Bleak House, but you're making me really want to. The picture you included in this post is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I haven't seen it yet, but I just finished reading the book!!!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to hear from you!
I haven't seen it yet--but I've heard a lot about how good it is! I'll have to put it on my list :-)
ReplyDeleteI read Bleak House in 2015 I think. I need to see it. But then, I'm behind hand in seeing most Dickens films.
ReplyDeleteIt's been such a long time since I last watched Bleak House and while I agree it isn't my top favorite - it is a great (and quite different) movie! I can't even remember how my sisters and I found it but we did (I think through YouTube) and we watched it enjoyed it. I'd love to go back and rewatch it now! :)
ReplyDeleteOooohhhh Bleak House! Such a captivating story indeed...I just could not stop watching...just one more episode?? {{smiles}} So glad you were finally able to see the BBC adaption, Heidi! Blessings to you!
ReplyDeleteYOU WATCHED BLEAK HOUSE. Isn't it spectacular?? I can't wait for more of your thoughts on it. :) (Also, aren't Allan and Esther simply perfect? I love that you included a photo of them!)
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your mom!!
How had you not watched it yet? I love it so much. <3
ReplyDeleteI love the Charles Dicken’s character. They are so weird, dark and so funny.
ReplyDeleteI saw Bleak House two years ago and I loved it. So intense and tense all the time.
Have fun!
"Bleak House" was such a good adaptation! Gillian Anderson was perfect for her role!
