Meanwhile, what better way to come back than with a tag? And Hamlette has nominated me for the Sunshine Award (this time with a very summery peppermint-y pinwheel and fancy scroll design on the tag ;-)). Thank you, Hamlette!
1. What is the next book you plan to read? ~ Emma by Jane Austen
2. Have you ever seen the same movie in the theater more than once? ~ I’ve actually only ever been once, but that was to see Gods and Generals.
3. Do you prefer pirates or cowboys? ~ Great question! To answer in a roundabout way: I love traveling out west, one of my favorite songs is Night Rider’s Lament (sung by Nanci Griffith), my current WIP has a strong Wild West thread and um…need I say more?
4. Have you ever been to an ocean? – Yes! Growing up on the West Coast I was blessed to be able to visit the Pacific Ocean a number of times (in Washington, Oregon, and California).
5. You're casting a new movie version of your favorite book. Who are your top choices for the leads? ~ Éowyn and I have tossed around various ideas for a casting of one of our favorite books: A Speckled Bird by Augusta Jane Evans. We’re still not absolutely settled on the leads (and since this is hypothetical, we’re ranging over a couple decades), but one idea is Maximilian Schell for Mr. Noel Herriott and Emily Blunt for Eglah Kent.
Thanks again, Hamlette! I enjoyed the questions! And now for my nominations…

And here are your questions:
1. If you could time travel, would you rather visit medieval England or 1800’s Paris?
2. For relaxation: G.K. Chesterton, C.S. Lewis, or neither?
3. Do you enjoy pie baking? Do you have a favorite kind (apple, cherry, etc.)?
4. A particular way God has blessed you in the past week?
5. Something summery and wonderful (i.e. something you did or are planning to do, something you learned, somewhere you’re planning to or have traveled)?
Do have fun and I'm looking forward to seeing all your answers!
Do have fun and I'm looking forward to seeing all your answers!
Oooooooh thanks so much! I will get to it when I can I am so busy at the moment, if that's ok? Thanks so much for your kind words on my blog :)
ReplyDeleteEvie, you're most welcome! And absolutely! Whenever you can fit it in is just fine. :-)
DeleteHello :-), I am going to answer them here today if you don't mind?
Delete1. If you could time travel, would you rather visit medieval England or 1800’s Paris?
1800's Paris! :D
2. For relaxation: G.K. Chesterton, C.S. Lewis, or neither?
C.S Lewis! I just LOVE Narnia
3. Do you enjoy pie baking? Do you have a favorite kind (apple, cherry, etc.)?
Sorta... my baking often ends in flour everywhere!
4. A particular way God has blessed you in the past week?
Yes, he has! I asked for opportunity and he rewarded me with me seeing my old conductor after 5 years perform in her orchestra and catching up with her after the show. :) My post here!

5. Something summery and wonderful (i.e. something you did or are planning to do, something you learned, somewhere you’re planning to or have traveled)?
Somthing wonderful.. probably the above :-) oh and getting promoted to Principal Violist as well!
Loved reading your answers, Evie! I love Narnia, too! We have them on CD as well--so we tend to listen to them while making dinner, etc. ;-) That must have been wonderful to see your conductor perform! And congratulations on the Principal Violist position!
DeleteThank you! Yay Nania is awsome!. Yes it was wonderful, she was simply amazing!! Oh shucks thank you so much! :)
DeleteThank you for tagging me, dear! I always enjoy some good questions, and I'll answer them right now. :-)
ReplyDelete1. If you could time travel, would you rather visit medieval England or 1800’s Paris?
Let us say 1800 Paris, because I think the fashion was prettier then. Just forget about the French Revolution... was the French Revolution then or not? Oops, I have no idea whatsoever. :-P
2. For relaxation: G.K. Chesterton, C.S. Lewis, or neither?
It would be Chesterton, because I'm not a C.S.Lewis fan. But as I have never read Chesterson my answer is neither.
3. Do you enjoy pie baking? Do you have a favorite kind (apple, cherry, etc.)?
I don't bake a lot, as my younger brother normally takes the job. :-)
4. A particular way God has blessed you in the past week?
Yes! He has blessed me by giving me courage to face the new schoolyear!
5. Something summery and wonderful (i.e. something you did or are planning to do, something you learned, somewhere you’re planning to or have traveled)?
We went to the beach this summer, and it was the first time our family went! It was a beautiful experience with good memories. The best memories of my summer holss, however, are spent at home. :-)
Oooh, you will be reading Emma soon! Good idea, I might follow you. :-)
~ Naomi
Thoroughly enjoyed your answers, Naomi dear! And I double-checked.... The French Revolution was 1789-1799, so it looks like you're safe. :-) I guess the 1800's would be more the era of either Les Mis, Count of Monte Cristo, or even the time when Mr. Rochester visited after coming back from the West Indies. Hmmm. Yes, a highly interesting city at any time. And an Emma reread would be quite excellent! ;-)
DeleteI know that I already thanked you for tagging me, but thanks again! I always enjoy the questions. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, and by the way, I really like your new background picture - is it from your trip?
Sarah (R) -- Oh, you're very welcome! I can't wait to see your answers! And yes, it is! That particular one is looking out on the Lower Falls and Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. I just love visiting there... It's quite utterly breathtaking. :-)
DeleteThank you Heidi for nominating my blog! I will try to post my answers soon. : )
ReplyDeleteAugusta Jane Evans is one of my favorite authors. I have read all of her books and truly enjoyed "The Speckled Bird". But I must admit "St. Elmo" was my favorite! Have you read "St. Elmo"?
-Sarah
Sarah, you're welcome! You have a lovely blog and I'm looking forward to reading your tag answers. :-)
DeleteAnd yes, I have! She's not very well known, and I was quite thrilled to hear you like her, too. :-) I do own all nine of her books--and St. Elmo was actually the first one I read. I think the only two I haven't really delved into are Vashti and Inez.
Heidi~
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to let you know that I hadn't forgotten that you tagged me and that I hope I will post the answers soon! Thank you so much, by the way!!! :)
Natalie,
DeleteOh, good! And that's perfectly all right--whenever you have time is fine. :-)
Btw, I'm so thrilled you're reading LOTR!! And I can't wait to hear more of what you think of it! ;-)
Thanks! I'll tell you my thoughts on LOTR in my email. I'm sorry that's taking so long, too! :(
